Fill, merge and inspect PDFs with one HTTP call - no headless browser

PDFops Introduction

PDFops is a hosted PDF API for developers who need to write PDFs, not just read them. What it does. Three primitives over plain HTTP: fill AcroForm fields from a JSON map of field values, merge several PDFs into one, and inspect any PDF to get back the exact form schema it exposes. Output is deterministic - the same input bytes produce the same output bytes, every time. Why it exists. Most PDF tooling assumes you can run a headless Chromium or ship a native library. In a serverless function you usually cannot: there is no Lambda layer to install, no binary to bundle, and a cold start budget measured in milliseconds. PDFops moves that work behind an HTTP call, so a function on Vercel, Cloudflare Workers, Deno or Bun can produce a filled, flattened document without any native dependency at all. Who it is for. AI agents, through a first-class MCP server that exposes the same operations as tools. No-code automators, through a verified n8n community node. And Python developers who have hit the point where pypdf's form handling stops being enough. Getting started. There is a free tier, a live playground that returns a working code snippet, and a form Inspector that shows a PDF's field names before you write a line of code.
